Creating a Sustainable Concert Wardrobe
10% of the world’s carbon emissions each year and 20% of its waste water are accounted for by the fashion industry. I boycott fast fashion to lower my carbon footprint. I knit this Bolan Tee designed by Leila Raven at Quince and Co, a (relatively) local-to-Boston yarn shop based in Maine committed to providing natural, sustainably sourced fibers. The pants with this outfit were purchased at Boomerangs, a non-profit thrift store whose proceeds benefit AIDS treatment and prevention.
In the second outfit, I am wearing a jumpsuit purchased at Goodwill and secondhand shoes from a friend. You can find more pictures of secondhand/handmade concert outfits in the reel below, proving that it is possible to find really nice (and inexpensive) clothes at thrift stores!
